  1. All American 5K / 10K

    Lace up your running/walking shoes for the 10th Annual All American 5K/10K. Co-hosted by the American Legion Post 50 and the Peachtree City Running Club, this year's race commemorates the 100th Anniversary of the American Legion. The Afghanistan combat veteran for whom the race was founded, CPT Dan Berschinski, U.S. Army, Retired, will be in attendance to cheer on the runners and present awards. Dan is a McIntosh High School and West Point graduate. As a young Infantry Lieutenant and Platoon Leader, Dan was grievously wounded and lost both legs to an IED. Come meet this genuine All American Hero!! The T-shirt will be a one-of-a-kind collectible as well, featuring the winning artwork of a local high school art contest. All proceeds will go to support Post 50 Veteran, Youth, and Community programs in the community.

    In honor of Peachtree City’s 60th anniversary, Peachtree City Library will publish an anthology of personal essays that capture the essence of Peachtree City as “home.” The idea is to capture a diverse range of voices and memories that tell the story of this special place.   2. CAREing Paws, Come Read to a Dog

    May 25, 2019, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Peachtree City Library, Children's Storytime Area

    The CAREing Paws Program utilizes registered therapy dogs to improve literacy skills for children. If your child struggles with reading this may be for you. Children must have a basic knowledge of reading. Open to children in Grades K-5. The library offers six 20 minute sessions. Parents must reserve a time slot in advance for their child. Children may bring a book or choose a book at the library. Registration Required. To register call the library at 770-631-2520.
