The CAREing Paws Program utilizes registered therapy dogs to improve literacy skills for children. If your child struggles with reading this may be for you. Children must have a basic knowledge of reading. Open to children in Grades K-5. The library offers six 20 minute sessions. Parents must reserve a time slot in advance for their child. Children may bring a book or choose a book at the library. Registration Required. To register call the library at 770-631-2520.

Come one, come all and hear a story! The PTC Library and the Southern Crescent Storytellers present “Celebrating Black History Through Stories”. Storytellers include Verna Muthoni, Lucille Campbell, Suzanne Ball, Labsi Gemechis, Gemechis Buba, and Lady B as Harriet Tubman. Each storyteller will present approximately 4-5 stories. No registration required. This event is free and open to all ages and will be held in the Storytime Area of the Children’s Department.
