POW/MIA Recognition Day

Friday, September 20, 2019

VFW Post 3650 and American Legion Post 105 are hosting the annual POW/MIA Recognition Day Observance on Friday, September 20, at Patriot Park in Fayetteville and begins at 11:00am. This event honors the service and sacrifice of those who have been prisoners of war (POW) as well as those of our military that are still considered Missing in Action (MIA). The ceremony includes reading of the POW/MIA Proclamation, presentation of a memorial wreath, flyover by US Army helicopter, personal remembrances of local POWs and MIAs, and the symbolic POW/MIA Table. In case of bad weather, the ceremony will be held in the Log Cabin, 180 S. Glynn St, Fayetteville.
