Responsibilities
The Peachtree City Police Department's Criminal Investigations Division is tasked with the responsibility of conducting preliminary and follow-up investigations on all Part 1 crimes within the city limits of Peachtree City. Whenever possible, members of the division also conduct proactive enforcement of State Laws and local ordinances.
Mission
Our mission is to enhance the quality of life in our city by protecting life and property, and by investigating criminal activity at its earliest stage. We will aggressively identify and apprehend criminals and deter the commission of crime by reducing the opportunities for such crimes. We will be responsive to social, geographical and economical changes within our community. We will work diligently with our local, state and federal law enforcement agencies to accomplish these goals through strategic planning, timely response to citizens' needs, safeguarding victim's rights and crime prevention efforts. We are committed to the highest professional law enforcement standards under the guidance of State Law, International Accreditation and State Certification.
Investigations
Upon considering our agency's responsibilities and size, the effectiveness and efficiency of the organization depends a great deal on preliminary and follow-up investigations. The Criminal Investigations Division is assigned a variety of these responsibilities.
Duties
CID personnel perform their duties in conjunction with the department's Patrol Division, Administrative Services Division, and Command Staff. The division is responsible for criminal investigations and the positive proactive enforcement of State Laws and local ordinances within our jurisdiction. CID personnel investigate all Part I or violent crimes. These types of crimes include, but are not limited to: murder, rape, sexual offenses, kidnapping, robberies, aggravated assaults, burglary and theft. The department's Juvenile Operations is also a component of CID, with an Investigator assigned as a Juvenile Officer. The Criminal Investigation Division is supervised by Lieutenant Brad Williams.
