2017 Project 37: Restrooms- Line Creek Nature Area

Status: Completed

Project Number: 37

Category: Parks and Recreation

Location: Line Creek Nature Area

Proposed Project Year: 2018

Original Project Budget: $150,000

Project/Goal Description:

Line Creek Nature Area is a highly used area for hiking, fishing, picnics, and group gathering for residents and visitors to our city. The Southern Conservation Trust estimates annual visitation between 25,000 and 30,000 with increased visitations in the future. Besides being promoted by the Southern Conservation Trust and the City of Peachtree City, the trails are listed on hiking websites such as Alltrails.com and Everytrail.com. There is currently one portable toilet placed full time in the parking lot for all visitors to use. Portable toilets are subject to vandalism and lack adequate handwashing amenities. The high usage and visibility of the Line Creek Nature Area merits a permanent structure in order to serve its visitors.

December 2022 Progress Update:  This project was completed in 2021. The principal restroom building was a pre-cast modular structure that was delivered and installed as one piece.  Public Works performed the site design, grading, and landscaping.  The foundation and utility work was contracted out and administered through Public Works.
