Georgia residents can now check out a stuffed backpack kit at any of the state's 400+ public libraries and/or, in combination with the already available Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites Pass for free with a valid library card. Each co-branded kit includes a sturdy, five-pocket backpack containing a pair of 5x30 binoculars, a guide to the Georgia State Parks and Historic Sites, a foldout Pocket Naturalist Guide to Georgia Wildlife, Georgia Birds, and Georgia Trees and Wildflowers. How it Works
The Discovery Backpack Kit consists of a backpack with binoculars and three foldout, weatherproof guides: Georgia's Trees; Georgia's Wildlife; and Georgia's Trees and Wildflowers.
The Backpack Kit can be checked out at the library circulation desk. The Backpack Kit is not available for holds.
Check out period is one week (7 days) with the option of one renewal. Late fee is $3/day.
The Backpack Kit must be returned to the lending library.
The Backpack Kit does NOT include a Georgia State Park and Historic Sites pass. The Georgia State park and Historic Sites Pass must be checked out separately.
