Highway 54 & 74 Project Information
UPDATED 1/24/2020: Information on the Open House held January 23 by the Georgia Department of Transportation on the plans for the Displaced Left Turn (DLT) can be found on the Engineering/Transportation Plans page. Comments may be provided through Thursday, February 6, 2020, by following the directions listed on the page.
Peachtree City continues to work closely with the Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) to ensure that the intersections and traffic control devices are performing as designed to maximize traffic flow on our highways, and we are committed to keeping the traffic flow for our businesses and residents a top priority in the coming years.

Peachtree City’s at the Planterra Way and MacDuff Parkway intersections COMPLETE. A pedestrian/multi-use bridge near the western border of town is also included in the SPLOST to increase golf cart access between the developments north and south of the highway. LONG-TERM GDOT PLANS
The GDOT is looking to 2020 and beyond for improvements to the Highway 54/74 Intersection in Peachtree City and will install a Continuous Flow/Dedicated Left Turn Intersection is programmed for 2020/2021. This design can significantly increase the traffic volume that an intersection can handle. View an example of a proposed Continuous Flow Intersection planned for Florida.
