Atlanta Hawks Check-It-Out Reading Challenge

May 27th~September 2nd, 2019

Hoops will lead to whoops this summer at the public library, as the Atlanta Hawks celebrate summer reading with the 15th annual Check-It-Out Reading Challenge.

Participants who read at least 5 books during the summer can earn a FREE ticket to see the Atlanta Hawks play! Children enrolled in grades pre-K through 12 in the state of Georgia can participate by having a parent or guardian log on to to sign up.

Parents and guardians may register each child in their household for the program. As many as five participating children may attend a Hawks game together when accompanied by at least one adult who has purchased a ticket.

Atlanta Braves: Blooper's Book Club

June 6th-August 8th, 2019

BLOOPER loves to read and he wants you to join him this summer in BLOOPER'S Book Club! BLOOPER's Book Club is an educational outreach initiative that promotes literacy and encourages students to build a love for reading. BLOOPERS Book Club rewards students in grades K-12 throughout the state of Georgia with a FREE Atlanta Braves ticket for reading books and completing an online activity. For program rules, a list of suggested titles, registration information and redemption forms visit

  • Register for the program and complete a grade appropriate online activity
  • Read one (1) book on sports or financial literacy. View a list of suggested titles at
  • Print your "BLOOPER's Book Club" Certificate and take it to your local library to receive a code to redeem a free Braves ticket.

One (1) Braves game ticket per student, subject to availability - tickets are accessible through your mobile device.

SYNC Audiobooks for Teens 

April 25th~August 1st, 2019

SYNC is a free summer audiobook program for teens 13+. SYNC is dedicated to introducing the listening experience to the teen audience and demonstrates that required reading can be completed by listening. SYNC will give away two complete audiobook downloads a week throughout the summer. That's 26 audiobook titles! SYNC pairs high interest titles, based on weekly themes. Simply sign-up to get notifications of when the FREE audiobook downloads are available. You can receive alerts by text message, email newsletter, or by visiting Titles change every Thursday at 7:00 am ET during the program. Each SYNC audiobook will be available for download for a period of 7 days only. Downloads are in MP3 format, hosted by OverDrive, and are Mac and Windows compatible. Downloads will operate through the OverDrive app. Titles are yours to keep once downloaded.

Barnes & Noble Summer Reading Club

May 7th~August 31st, 2019

Kids in grades 1st-6th can receive a free book from Barnes & Noble by reading 8 books over the summer and filing out this Summer Reading Journal. Simply bring the completed journal to the nearest Barnes & Noble location between August 1st and August 31st 2019 to choose a free book. See for more details.

Bookopolis: 2019 Summer Challenge
