Who are we? We are a volunteer organization and a non-profit corporation [501(c)3] established in 1974 to bring library services to the people of Peachtree City. When the current library was built, we became a Friends group with a mission to promote community support for the Peachtree City Library, and to make money which is used to support library programs.
What do we do? We accept donations of gently used books, audio books, DVD videos, and music CDs, and conduct a continuous sale of these items at the library. In addition, we hold major sales of these items. In 2011, we raised more than $16,000 by selling used books and from donations.
Each year, we provide about $5,000 for the Children’s Vacation Reading Program. In 2012, we will purchase more than $5,000 in books for the library. We also provide financial support to other library programs such as our monthly event featuring local authors.
How can you help?
Volunteer! Contribute your time and talents to the library and to Friends’ programs. Each new volunteer receives a personal orientation tour of the library. Last year, more than 90 volunteers, Friends and others, contributed more than 2,200 hours to the library and its patrons. Print and fill out your volunteer application now.
Donate! Contribute books CDs, DVDs, and audio books to the sales. All donations may be tax-deductable. Please read our Donation Policy for details on what we can and cannot accept.
