Auxiliary Police Force was established to allow citizens the ability to
assist their local law enforcement agency in various capacities in a
volunteer/unpaid capacity. While not sworn or certified police officers
the Auxiliary assist the Police Department at large public gatherings,
emergency operations, cart path patrol, and general neighborhood and
business watch patrols. Current members include some very dedicated
individuals with very diverse backgrounds. Positions also exist in the Auxiliary Police Force for administrative positions at Headquarters for qualified citizens based on their qualifications.
The Auxiliary Police Force has several fund raising activities which support department operations and officers. There are funds available for rewards, donations of equipment, ballistic vests, and a memorial fund to assist officers and their families in times of need.
Auxiliary Officers also become involved in
other aspects of the Police Department where there skills may be
valuable to the overall mission of protecting the citizens of Peachtree
City. Several Auxiliary Officers have attended and graduated from the Citizens Police Academy (CPA). Auxiliary officers also assist with traffic control at various events, including road safety check points.
