Summer Reading Program

Important Message:

All programs are FREE, but require ONE TICKET PER PERSON for each event. Tickets are available online two weeks prior to the date of the performance. There is a limited number of tickets available for each performance.

In order to accommodate as many teens as possible, there is also a limit of one adult ticket per family for each performance.

Cooking with Chef Carlin (Ages 10-15) 
Friday, June 16th @ 2 pm

Participants will learn simple cooking skills while preparing macaroni and cheese. We'll make macaroni and cheese then build it to personal specifications using a variety of toppings. Participants will grate cheese for macaroni, dice tomatoes, dice green onions, shred chicken, chop fresh herbs, crumble bacon, and blanch broccoli florets. Chef Carlin Breinig is a Certified Personal Chef and a member of the International Association of Culinary Professionals. Chef Carlin is a teaching chef at the Cook's Warehouse in Atlanta as well as a product specialist for KitchenAid. She has presented several cooking classes and demonstrations at libraries throughout the state of Georgia. Program should last approximately 1 1/2 to 2 hours.

Graphic Novels (Ages 12-16)
Friday, July 30th @ 2 pm

Join Jennifer Green in a journey into the “super” world of Graphic Novels. Attendees will the learn about the importance of comics, a brief history of the genre, terminology, and some suggested reading titles. This classroom style presentation will also include a discussion of Marvel vs. DC and how to download comics and graphic novels to your mobile devices using Hoopla. This program is free and open to teens and tweens ages 12-16.
This program will last approximately 60 minutes and will be held in the Storytime Area in the Children's Department of the Peachtree City Library.

sync-audiobooks-2016-1-square.png  SYNC Audiobooks for Teens
April 27~August 16th, 2017

SYNC is a free summer audiobook program for teens 13+. SYNC is dedicated to introducing the listening experience to the teen audience and demonstrates that Required Reading can be completed by listening. SYNC will give away two complete audiobook downloads a week throughout the summer. That's 30 audiobook titles! SYNC pairs high interest titles, based on weekly themes. Simply sign-up to get notifications of when the FREE audiobook downloads are available. You can receive alerts by text message, email newsletter, or by visiting www.audiobooksync.com. Titles change every Thursday at 7am ET during the program. Each SYNC audiobook will be available for download for a period of 7 days only. Downloads are in MP3 format, hosted by OverDrive, and are Mac and Windows compatible. Downloads will operate through the OverDrive app. Titles are yours to keep once downloaded.
