Summer Reading Program
Special Events

 Important Message:
All programs are FREE, but require ONE TICKET PER PERSON for each event. Tickets are available online beginning at 9 am on the Friday prior to the Tuesday performances and Saturday tickets will be available on the prior Saturday. There is a limited number of tickets available for each performance. In order to accommodate as many children as possible, there is also a limit of one adult ticket per family for each performance. To reserve your tickets visit http://peachtreecitylibrary.eventbrite.com. The library tries to schedule a variety of programs that appeal to various ages, however parents are the best judges of appropriateness and appeal to their children. No strollers or baby carriers will be allowed at the programs.

Scott Douglas "Music Tells a Story" (Musician)
Tuesday, July 25th @ 10:30 am

Kids will travel the world through percussion instruments and drums. Join us on a world-wide adventure with music from Brazil, Thailand, Switzerland, Africa, Jamaica, and more. As the founder and artistic director of the Atlanta Percussion Trio, Scott Douglas has performed for children for much of his career. As part of the Young People's Concert Series, Scott's program, demonstrates percussion instruments from the Caribbean, Mexico, Europe, Asia, Australia, South America and Africa as well as wood and clay flutes from North and South America, Scandinavia and Africa. Attendees will see and hear what it's like to make music from around the world on the instruments from different cultures.

American Black Belt Academy-Martial Arts Program
Wednesday, July 26th @ 10:30 am

Join us at the Peachtree City Library for a fun filled, instructor led Martial Arts Program where kids can build confidence and learn some Martial Arts basics.

American Black Belt Academy (ABBA Karate Martial Arts) in Peachtree City is a Mixed Martial Arts school with Karate and Tae Kwon Do as the main martial arts which is under World Tae Kwon Do Federation. American Black Belt Academy teaches Olympic style Tae Kwon Do(Korean style karate), Ju-Do, and Self Defense for children and adults.

This program will be held in the Storytime Area of the Children's Department.

In honor of National Poetry Month, the Peachtree City Library proudly presents a Poetry Writing Workshop for kids, conducted by Dr. Beth-Anne Miles. This event is intended for young poets ages 6-12. There is a strict limit of 12 attendees and pre-registration is required at https://ptcpoetryworkshop.eventbrite.com. All materials and snacks will be provided. The workshop will be held in the Floy Farr Room of the Peachtree City Library.
