The State Mandated Outdoor Burning Ban begins Tuesday, May 1, and is in effect through Sunday, September 30. No burn permits for outdoor burning will be issued during this time. Recreational fires and fires used for cooking are allowed and do not require a permit. For more information, call the Fire Marshal’s Office at 770-631-2526.

Storyteller Carol Cain will present her wonderful stories to the Peachtree City Library. Storyteller, actress, and recently retired educator Carol Cain has been entertaining audiences for over twenty-five years. Carol has been the emcee of the Azalea Storytelling Festival in LaGrance, Ga for ten years and was a featured teller at the 2015 Azalea Festival in March. In addition to her work at museums and libraries throughout the Southeast, Carol performed at the 2011 Timpanogos Storyelling Festival in Orem, Utah. She and her husband Kevin are also featured on the Donald Davis workshop video entitled “What’s Your Story?” which was broadcast on both BYU-TV and North Carolina Public Broadcasting. Registration is required.

Class will meet each Tuesday for three weeks and students must attend all three weeks. There are two sessions available. Kids will learn to program tiny robots to get around mazes, race each other, and even dance. Who knew coding could be so much FUN?!
