  2. Outdoor Burn Ban Begins

    May 1 - September 30 @ The Outdoor Burning Ban affects 54 counties in Georgia, including 19 counties in the metro Atlanta area.

    The State Mandated Outdoor Burning Ban begins Tuesday, May 1, and is in effect through Sunday, September 30. No burn permits for outdoor burning will be issued during this time. Recreational fires and fires used for cooking are allowed and do not require a permit. For more information, call the Fire Marshal’s Office at 770-631-2526.

  3. Fayette Water Guardians Cleanup - Lake Kedron

    Trash grabber, trash bags and bottled water provided. Bring canoe or kayak, life vest, sun screen, and hat (and gloves for shoreline walkers). Pre-registration required - a mandatory liability waiver will be sent to all volunteers and must be completed in order to participate.

  1. CAREing Paws, Come Read to a Dog

    May 12, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM @ Children's Storytime Area

    The CAREing Paws Program utilizes registered therapy dogs to improve literacy skills for children. If your child struggles with reading this may be for you. It is designed to books the self-esteem of new readers. Open to children in Grades K-5. The library offers six 20 minute sessions. Parents must call in advance to reserve a time for their child. Children may bring a book or choose a book at the library.
