  1. Open Dragon Boat Practice on Lake Peachtree

    August 17, 5:45 PM - 7:00 PM

    Weekly Dragon Boat crew lessons and practices on Tuesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. and Thursday evenings at 6:00 p.m. The public is invited, whether you plan on entering a team in the September Dragon Boat Races or not. $5 per person fee per training session covers paddles, life jackets, boats, and instruction. Wear boating clothes, sunscreen, and "wettable" shoes. Normal water safety rules (no practice during threat of thunder storms) will apply. It's challenging and fun. All levels are welcome, no experience necessary. The sport is accessible and inclusive. Open to everyone ages 14 and up - come as often as you like, just to have fun!

  5. 3rd Annual Run for Love: 5K Run & 1 Mile Walk

    Join us for Run for Love on August 26th, 2017! Register online in advance at active.com or lovesfoundation.org or on race day at McIntosh Park. Early bird registration is $25, and $30 after July 31st and on race day. T-shirts are only guaranteed to Early Bird registrants. Prizes will be awarded to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place male and female runners in age categories 12 & up. All proceeds to benefit Loves Foundation, a 501 (c)3 nonprofit aimed at financially assisting bereaved parents of infants that have passed.

  6. International Overdose Awareness Day

    August 31, 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM @ Drake Field

    G.R.A.S.P. (Grief Recovery After Substance Passing) is hosting International Awareness Day at Drake Field on August 31st. Help them spread awareness of the opioid epidemic. Volunteers will be providing information on how to recognize signs of use/abuse, how to obtain medication to reverse overdose, as well as where grieving families can go for help after loss.
