Sheds

Shed Requirements:

  • Sheds may not be located in the rear setback unless:
    • If your lot is at least 50 feet wide in the rear, you may place one shed no larger than 100 square feet as close as 3 feet to the rear property line
    • If your lot is at least 100 feet wide in the rear, you may place up to two sheds as close as 3 feet to the rear property line. The maximum total area of both structures is 125 square feet
  • Sheds may not be located within the side setback
  • Sheds shall be no taller than 8 feet from the ground at its eave, and no taller than 12 feet at the highest point of its roof
  • Sheds shall blend with the colors of the primary structure or be earth tones
  • You may not conduct commercial activities in the shed
  • Storage of flammable materials must occur at least 20 feet from the primary structure
  • You may not live in the shed
    • Properties zoned ER, AR, or R-43 may construct accessory dwelling units, but these must meet all setback requirements
